Data You Can Trust

Forecast What to Make Without the Black Box

Bakery demand forecasting works best when it's built on your own sales data, not industry averages. CafeKit calculates average daily demand for each menu item from your real Square order history, broken down by day of week, and shows you the typical range so you know what to expect. Unlike black-box tools, you can see exactly how every forecast number is built.

Built on Your Real Sales History

CafeKit uses your historical Square sales to calculate average daily demand for each item, broken down by day of week. You see exactly how many Croissants you typically sell on a Tuesday versus a Saturday, so you can plan your bake with confidence.

The forecast is straightforward: an average of what you've actually sold, plus the typical range so you know how much to expect. No black-box algorithm — just your real numbers, calculated and shown clearly.

As new sales come in, the forecast updates automatically so it always reflects your most recent trends. Everything is built from your actual sales — not industry averages and not guesswork.

Our Story

Why I Built CafeKit

Zech Campbell, founder of CafeKit
Zech Campbell Founder, Baker, and Engineer

I spent 5 years building software at Square, then launched my own cookie company in Portland. That's when I felt the pain: trying to figure out tomorrow's bake count from Square orders was a nightmare of spreadsheets and guesswork. I kept wishing there was an easier way to figure how many individual items I sold. I needed a simple 'what-to-make' list, with zero effort, every day. So I built CafeKit, the tool I wished existed to skip the spreadsheet nightmare and get that time back.

Skip the spreadsheets. Know exactly what to make, every day.

Common questions about CafeKit, the production planning tool for bakeries using Square POS.

CafeKit connects to your Square account and automatically generates a production list showing exactly what you need to make for any date. Example:

If 3 preorders each include 2 Chocolate Chip Cookies and 1 Cinnamon Roll, your list will show:

Cinnamon Rolls - 3
