How to Print Square Orders

3 Methods for Bakeries & Cafes

There are three ways to print orders from Square: directly from the Square Dashboard one at a time, automatically via a connected Star Micronics or Epson receipt printer, or in bulk using CafeKit's aggregated production lists. For bakeries producing in batches, CafeKit is the only method that shows total quantities per item.

1

Print from Square Dashboard

The simplest way to print a Square order is directly from your Square Dashboard. No extra hardware or software needed.

  1. 1 Log in to squareup.com and go to Orders
  2. 2 Click on the order you want to print
  3. 3 Use your browser's print function (Ctrl+P or Cmd+P)
  4. 4 Repeat for each order

Best for

Occasional orders, one-off prints

Limitations

  • One order at a time
  • No bulk printing
  • Manual counting to total items
  • Slow with 10+ orders

Just need to print your orders in bulk?

CafeKit has a free bulk print tool that lets you print multiple Square orders at once. No sign-up required. If you also need aggregated production totals and demand forecasting, keep reading about Method 3.

2

Use a Receipt Printer with Square

Square supports automatic ticket printing through compatible receipt printers. Each new order prints as it comes in, which is great for made-to-order restaurants. For a deeper comparison of Square's ticket printing versus production-style lists, see our Square Order Printer guide.

  1. 1 Connect a compatible printer (Star Micronics or Epson) to your Square POS
  2. 2 Enable automatic ticket printing in Square settings
  3. 3 Each order prints a ticket as it arrives

Best for

Restaurants, cafes making items to order

Limitations

  • Still one ticket per order
  • You still count items across tickets manually
  • Requires compatible hardware ($300+)
  • Not designed for batch production
3

Use CafeKit for Bulk Production Lists

CafeKit takes a different approach. Instead of printing individual order tickets, it connects to your Square account, pulls all your orders, and shows you a single aggregated production list. You see exactly how many of each item to make for any given date. CafeKit also includes a free bulk print tool so you can print all your orders at once when you need physical copies.

  1. 1 Connect your Square account to CafeKit (one-click, read-only)
  2. 2 Orders sync automatically every night (or refresh anytime)
  3. 3 Pick a date and view your aggregated production list

Best for

Bakeries, cafes doing batch production
